Portosoul Trindade Apartment Porto, is located by Trindade Station and offers views of the city and a beautiful living space. Guests can use a private parking garage provided on site and Wi-Fi for business or leisure. We found the apartment on booking.com. We were struggling to find accommodation that had cots. We knew this would be the place for us as soon as we found that they had cots and hot tubs!

The staff were excellent in communicating before our stay. We had a form to fill out a few nights before and had to provide our passport details, expected time of arrival etc. The check in time is 3pm however once we landed in Porto and had reached Trindade Station, I messaged them on booking.com to advise we had reached the centre and to ask if they could let us know once check in was available. This was at 11am and they replied within a couple of minutes and we were able to check straight in. Luckily, the family before us had checked out early so the apartment was all ready for us. I never take for granted being able to check in early and we couldn’t of been more grateful, especially with having Ted.

You are given the codes to access your apartment (you will need to open 3 doors in total) or you can use an app to open the doors. We found the apartment very easily, thanks the instructions given beforehand by the owners. My code didn’t work straight away but after a couple of attempts, one of the staff opened the door and apologised that he hadn’t activated our codes. We didn’t have any other issues with the codes during our stay. There was no lift but he took us up the apartment, which was 2-3 floors up. We were able to leave the pram in the reception area to save having to carry it constantly. We didn’t find the steps an issue, even with Ted. He loved walking up and down them! However, if you do have mobility issues, you would struggle with this apartment as there is no assisted help to the rooms.

We received a warm welcome from the host, who gave us a tour of the apartment and provided some recommendations to us. He also did take the tourist tax from us, which we paid in cash. This was 30 euros for our stay. They also gifted us a lovely bottle of white wine, which we enjoyed later that evening.

The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was immaculately clean throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, with extras such as coffee pods and washer pods. The hot tub is clean and is situated on a lovely terrace area, which is perfect to enjoy in the evenings. Unfortunately the air con wasn’t working during our stay. We did message on the first night regarding this and they did come out and turned it off and on but it still didn’t work. However, the windows are very large in the apartment which gave a fantastic breeze and cooled the apartment down for us perfectly. It didn’t affect our stay at all. They also kindly provided us with a cot for Ted and bedding was provided as well.
We do like the flexibility of having an apartment as it allows us to feel more at home. We needed to wash a few things and the washing machine was easy enough to work out and they apartment provided rails for outside to dry your clothes. We didn’t have any cleaning service whilst we stayed here so it was good to wash anything when required.

As Ted is not old enough to use the hot tub, we only used it in the evenings and would take turns in the hot tub to make sure Ted was always safe and well. It was so lovely being able to watch the sunset each evening and having the relaxation time in the evenings. The staff set the temperature to 37c which was ideal for us. I really do miss the hot tub since I have been home.

There was a lovely pizza restaurant near us, which is situated near Trindade Station, called NotItalian. Ted was very tired one night so we decided to get a takeaway and just relax in the apartment. It was one of the best pizza’s we have ever had. I ordered the Margherita and Chris ordered Pepperoni. I would highly recommend pizza if you are stay here!

Trindade station is 1 minute walk away and you can reach the nearest supermarket within 5 minute walk. The supermarket we used was called Froiz. The supermarket had everything we needed for our stay. The pricing was also very reasonable. The only thing we found expensive were nappies. The size we needed for Ted was 18 euros but we managed to find another supermarket later on in the week, once we had used all nappies up that we bought from home and they were only 6 euros.

We paid just over £1000 for 5 nights and we would happily stay here again. For us, it was in a quiet location but near to everything that we needed.
